Haha whittier I always wondered what happened to the old hardcore/punk scene there since the 80s and early 90s. I know everyone grew up but those were some fun times with those guys lol

Born at Presbyterian hospital in ‘59 but left Whittier in ‘72. My fondest memories are going to Farmer Del’s restaurant ( somewhere near Washington & Lambert-I think ) on my father’s payday. Remember the check for five of us was $6-7.00.

Okay, for future reference, it really helps to list the meats & cheeses in the sandwich! Irritating that he didn't! So, probably: Pepperoni Spicy Capicola Salami Pepper jack cheese But otherwise? ETA: Online menu doesn't list this sandwich, but it is on their online ordering menu. But it's under Spicy Submarine name. Weird that the Pasta salad isn't listed on either menu by itself, but it's one of the choices for the sandwich on their online ordering manu.

I remember The Wardman Theater well. Back in the 60's, we had free passes. My brothers are the sons of John Bruen. We would go to all the theaters, including the Sundown drive-in, which was my favorite. I think growing up in Whittier from 1958 to 1968 was the happiest time of my life.

I’ll give it a try. I’ve seen that restaurant all my life. My parents took me once. I think if they put some thing sugary on the menu, it would really help bring people in. In the 70’s and 80’s it was always buzzing with people. With long lines. Remember it was before Sizzler. $17.99 is a good price for steak. Other places are very expensive.

However, all items were at 50% off!! Store employee stated there would be a follow up sale for remaining items. Any update there?

The veggie pizza slice at Amazon Fresh is bomb with the kalmata olives, red onion, spinach and red bell pepper. As long as it hasn't been sitting beneath a heat lamp for too long, it's excellent for $1.99 per slice.

There was one in Altadena/Pasadena on Lake in the 60s-70s. I remember going when I was around 7 years old. It’s long gone.

I used to like the Lascari's on Whittier Blvd. but I don't like the changes they made. I'll have to try the deli, that looks tight.

I used to love the Indian headbands they would give to the kids

La Victoria is fire should check that out, but I always end up in Norwalk for that real real. tacos gueros⛽️

Jack's is one of our favorite place's 😍 love their Turkey burger must have a side of thousand spread for the buns and it's tasty 😋 best of all the waitresses are very friendly and Juan who runs the counter is a very nice man. Try your burger on Tuesday with a chicken Tortilla soup. You will not be disappointed. Thanks Jack 👏

Dangit, I was buying stuff there in early 90's, and buying hot dogs from Burt the Hot Dog Man!! That's been a cool shop for me, since I still have and play my Technics MK turntable that I bought there in '91.
